Our Story

For the past seven years, Limelight has been a place where childhood is celebrated where learning begins with wonder, not instruction.

Seven years of Growth And Light

A Single Light

or the past seven years, Limelight has been a place where childhood is celebrated where learning begins with wonder, not instruction. What started as a small home-based childcare in North Vancouver grew from a single light into a mosaic of many: children, families, and educators connected by a shared belief that love, nature, and art can shape the way we grow.

Growing into a Mosaic

Now, with the opening of our second location, Limelight Childcare in Vancouver, this vision continues to evolve. Here, every room, every corner, and every moment is designed to reflect our core philosophy: that love is the root of learning, nature is the truest teacher, and art is the language of the soul.

More Than Childcare

Limelight is more than a childcare center, it is a living space where children explore freely, create fearlessly, and discover the courage to be themselves. Each child is seen as a whole being — heart, mind, and body — nurtured through the gentle balance of structure, creativity, and connection.

Our Approach

We believe that early learning should be joyful, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate, not stressful or rigid.

Play-Based Learning

We follow a play-based approach that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through exploration and discovery.

Nature-Inspired

Children build strong foundations through outdoor discovery, storytelling, and hands-on activities connected to the natural world.

Art as Language

Through art, children develop genuine love for learning, confidence in problem-solving, and readiness for lifelong success.

Research-Backed Excellence

Supported by the standards of NAEYC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Government of British Columbia, our program helps children (ages 2.5–5) develop through exploration, not rote memorization.
